Horry County Memorial Library is proud to announce that two employees were nominated for the Horry County Randy Faulk Employee of the Year Award, with one of the nominees winning the award.
The nominees for this prestigious recognition include:
Lee Brown, Branch Librarian at Socastee Library
Carissa Soukup, Youth Services Library Assistant at North Myrtle Beach Library
It is with great pride that Team Horry announces Leona “Lee” Brown of Horry County Memorial Libraries as the 2025 Employee of the Year!
Brown was recognized, in part, for her leadership in creating the Little Free Pantry at the library, which provides non-perishable food items and other essential supplies to community members in need.
“I’m overwhelmed, I’m grateful, and I’m honored,” Lee said.
Runner-ups for the 2025 Employee of the Year award include Ofc. Nicholas Guida, Ofc. Kenneth Spears, and Ofc. Jonathan Sookram of Horry County Police Department, as well as James “Walker” Calhoun of Horry County Public Works.
