There are many ways to support your public library including joining the Friends of the Library group, donating materials and/or money, volunteering, or working at the library. If you are passionate about the mission of the public library and would like to contribute, please consider helping in any way. Let's make a huge impact together!
Friends of the Library
Everyone who supports our libraries is invited to join a Friends of the Library group at their local branch. Our dedicated volunteers advocate for libraries, raise funds, sponsor events, and host used book sales. By contributing as a library Friend, you can make a lasting impact at your library.

Volunteers
Are you eager to lend a hand?
Volunteers are needed to help organize materials and to support large programs and events. You can participate by joining the Friends or completing the volunteer application.
Teens, ages 16 and up, can help at the library by shelving books, preparing crafts for children’s programs and storytimes, assisting with the summer reading program and more. Ask at your local branch for an application and additional details.
Donations
Donating Books & Other Materials
Our libraries accept gently used books for books sales or to add the library collection. Contact any branch library for more information before taking materials to a library.
Monetary Donations
Library supporters are encouraged to make financial donations to any Friends of the Library or to the Horry County Memorial Library Endowment Fund. For more information, contact any Friends group or Library Administration at 843-915-5285.
