The Horry County Memorial Library sets the following Wireless Internet Policy to make use of the Library’s wireless internet available in an efficient and equitable manner.

Free wireless internet access is available at all Library locations for customers to use with their own wireless enabled personal devices. These access points are unsecured and accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They are filtered to comply with Children’s Internet Protect Act (CIPA) regulations.

All users are expected to use the Library’s wireless access in a legal and responsible manner, consistent with the Library’s Code of Conduct and Internet Policy.

The Library’s wireless connection is a public network and not secure. Users should choose not to transmit personal information (credit card numbers, passwords, and any other sensitive information) while using any wireless “hot spot”. The appropriate precautions should also be taken when using the Library’s service.

Library staff cannot troubleshoot user problems related to their wireless device or assist in making changes to a user’s device’s network settings and/or hardware configuration. The Library cannot guarantee that a device will work with the Library’s wireless access points.

All wireless access users should have up to date virus protection on their devices. The Library will not be responsible for any information that is compromised, or for any damage caused to hardware or software due to electrical surges, security issues, or consequences caused by viruses or hacking.

Wireless printing is available at all Library locations. Customers can email the item to be printed as an attachment to print@printme.com. They will then receive a print code in their email which they will take to the printing kiosk to print their documents.

Use of the Library’s wireless network is entirely at the risk of the user. The Library disclaims all liability for loss of confidential information or damages resulting from that loss.

To connect to the wireless network, customers will need to connect on their device to the HCML_Branchname WIFI network.
