The Horry County Memorial Library provides limited space in each Library for the distribution of materials concerning civic and non-profit organizations, and community events.
The Library does not accept religious proselytizing or partisan political materials, petitions, or items from for-profit organizations and businesses.
The Library accepts materials from non-profits and governmental organizations. Examples include information for community services, events, or educational opportunities.
The Library reserves the right to determine the suitability and quantities of material accepted. The Library disposes of unused materials.
The Library will make no effort to monitor distribution to the public.
Distribution of Library materials takes priority over non-Library materials.
The Library does not advocate or endorse the viewpoints of materials displayed by outside organizations. Acceptance or rejection of material for display does not imply approval or disapproval by the Library of the ideas or opinions expressed.
The Library does not assume responsibility or liability for the loss or damage to displayed materials or for the accuracy of the information.
The Library Director is responsible for the establishment and administration of this policy.
